Fiction Book (Series)

Now distributed by Erben House!

Two teenage young ladies grow up on the same farm one hundred years apart. The comparisons are a driving force in the modern girl's development. Annabelle Kathleen Delainey (Katie Belle) is born 100 years to the day after Nan of Steeple in the Distance, in the same house, and with the same last name. And so, she is given the rest of her great-great-grandmother’s name as well, Annabelle Kathleen. Her grandfather calls her “Katie Belle” and the name Katie sticks. Katie receives Nan’s (1915-1918) journal and keeps a weblog parallel to the journal. The book overlaps Sunshine and Shadows with Gloria the link between her grandmother Nan and Katie Belle. Much of the story will, however, take place on the campus of the Lutheran boarding school, Emmaus. Katie compares Nan's diary with her own teen years attending Emmaus Lutheran School.

About

Deborah K. Ude

Deborah Ude wrote poetry and short stories throughout high school and college. The Lord used her creative talents in teaching and raising nine children with her husband, Professor John Ude. When the last of the children entered the final stages of leaving home, Deborah realized time was available to develop her writing skills. Writing, visits from nine children and grandchildren, campus activities, and occasional substitute teaching adequately filled the empty nest. The lack of novels based on her German Lutheran heritage suggested a niche that she could attempt to fill.

Deborah went to be with Jesus June 29, 2017.
