Poems of Prayer & Praise is a series of forty-four poetic devotions, written by retired Pastor L. Dale Redlin. From his 40-year ministry, these poems focus the thoughts of the reader on the Savior Jesus and on the immeasurable love of God to lost sinners like us. They trouble the guilty conscience with the message of God’s holy law, but also share the comforting Good News of salvation: sins forgiven through Christ’s death on the cross.
A related section from the Holy Bible leads each poem and a prayer is included after every poem as a continuation of the reader’s worship and an opportunity to give thanks and praise to God. With this format, Poems of Prayer & Praise is well-utilized as individual or family devotions, among other applications. L. Dale Redlin
In addition to serving for more than 40 years in the public ministry, L. Dale Redlin wrote six books: God’s Promise Kept Volumes I and II, My Father’s Business, Sheep & Shepherds, Poems of Prayer and Praise, and his bestseller, It Takes Cow Chips to Make Dinner. About his writing, he said: “I wish to thank our gracious God for giving me the gifts and opportunity to write books. It has been my pleasure, to tell everyone how much He means to all of us.” While growing up in rural South Dakota, Pastor Redlin resided in Minnesota much of his adult life. He lived in Mankato with his family for many years and the Twin Cities in his final years.
